Our mission is to see lives changed and communities transformed by the gospel. Join us as we head out into our community to reflect Christ to our neighbors who need to see God loves them.

Kids Hope USA

One child, one hour, one church, one school

One caring adult, mentoring a child in need for one hour every week helps makes a kid feel loved and valued and better able to learn, grow, and succeed. We are so fortunate to have Kids Hope USA at The Chapel, partnering with Wildwood Elementary. We are one of many to participate in this faith based mentoring program across the USA. For more information contact Lisette West at .

How you can be involved:

Mentors/Substitute Mentors

  • Meet with one at-risk child, for one hour once a week during the school day from August through May.
  • Be a Prayer Partner
  • Provide behind the scenes prayer support for one mentor and the child they meet.
  • Special Event Volunteers: If you have the gift of hospitality, you can help with the Annual Christmas Party, Year End Party and Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.

Love In Deed

Love In Deed is a ministry to the elderly, shut-ins and nursing home residents. Through this ministry The Chapel has established an ongoing ministry with the Affinity Nursing Home and serves in other areas as needs arise. If you want to find out more about Love In Deed, contact Jackie.

Urban Ministry: Gardere

The Chapel partners with other churches in the Gardere area through Connections Ministry. We come alongside community pastors to present the gospel and establish ongoing redemptive relationships in this urban environment.

Camp in the City (formerly Base Camp)

The Chapel partners with Pine Cove Christian Camp to put on a day camp here in Baton Rouge for kids. Our hope is to connect children to Christ through a fun environment. This is a great opportunity to get people plugged into the local church and to serve on mission in your own city.

How you can be involved:

  • Host camp counselors in your home for the week they are in town serving
  • Help prepare the food daily during camp
  • Serve as the on-sight camp nurse
  • Donate scholarships for kids who cannot afford the camp
