Sending Residency
The goal of The Chapel Sending Residency is to lead a Sending Resident, who is someone who aspires to be a UPG Church Planter, through a 1-year process of development and discernment, so that The Chapel can affirm the sending of the resident with a high degree of confidence.

Anyone looking to discern long-term overseas church planting work among unreached people groups. You don’t have to be 100% set on going, but be open to following God as He leads you in His global purposes.

Theological training: Residents will pursue a Graduate Certificate of Christian Studies (GCCS) from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Mentorship: Residents are assigned a mentor.
Discipleship: Residents will disciple a small group of college students weekly.
International Ministry: Residents will teach English as a Second Language Classes and pursue international-focused evangelism.
Character Growth: Residents will participate in activities that are focused on building Christ-like character.
Sending Residency Tasks: Weekly Sending Residency meetings, homework, prayer meetings, conferences, and a short-term international trip.

College degree or similar experience.

A Sending Resident will raise his/her own funds. $24,000 for the year ($2,000 per month). Seminary and housing are covered by The Chapel (Residents pay utilities).

The Chapel’s Sending Residency is from September 2026 to August 2027.

No. The Sending Residency is designed to be a full time commitment.

No. We want to help other churches in their global sending efforts. We see the Sending Residency as a strategic way to partner with other churches in sending long term workers to the unreached peoples of the world.

One resident will be attending Radius International.
One family is pursuing further theological training at Greenville Presbyterian Seminary and then plan to attend Radius International.
One resident is joining Campus 2 Campus and moving to Southeast Asia.
One resident will get a job in Baton Rouge and continue living as a globally minded Christian here.
One resident is pursuing a relationship and then seeing where the Lord leads.
